China Visa, Hepatitis A&B, Rabies!

FINALLY here- you took your time China!
So here they are- after about 3 weeks of fretting! Loving the new design of the Chinese visa I have to say- mind it probably changed ages ago- I haven't been to China since December 2007 what with me having Cancer and all that Jazz! (Not any more thankfully!!!)

So tomorrow I shall be rushing off to the post office to send off for our visas to Vietnam. After that Mike and I will meet at the doctors for round 2 of injections :( We will be getting the same two we got last week- Hepatitis A&B and Rabies. Hep is nothing to worry about but Rabies stings like a killer bee with a hormone problem! I got the injections first and usually I am quite brave as I have been a pin cushion for injections for the past 5 years but this one------ohhhh lordy it hurt!!! The nurse must have thought she injected a little bit too much rabies  in to me as I pranced round the room holding my arm like a monkey going 'ow ow ow ow ow ow'! As you can imagine Mike tried to show a display of bravery after seeing my reaction, and although he was quiet and didn't move around after, I saw the paler tone in his face and the look in his eyes! I know it hurt him just as much! The eyes never lie! Muwahahahhaaaaa!!!!

12 MORE WEEKS TO GO!

So, still no Chinese visa but lets keep our fingers crossed they get a wiggle on!

I have heard from a cousin of Mum's today who lives in Mumbai (Bombay) and he has invited Mike and I to go and stay with him and his family whilst we are there and to take us round to see Mumbai. This really touched me as I have never really known him or had a great deal of contact with him and yet he has opened his arms and his home to us. This is just another example of what family is really about and it is so touching to see that some people still highly regard family morals and love. I am really looking forward to getting to know them and will hopefully keep a relationship for many years to come.

Nothing much more to report at the moment. Researching Australia and where to stay whilst there. It is looking VERY VERY expensive and we are meant to be there for 2 months! Hopefully we will find somewhere in our budget- like a burnt out rubbish bin used as a seat for a homeless person outback! Even then we probably won't be able to afford the deposit!

There are a couple of new changes to the blog, if you look down the right hand side you will see an option to translate my page into a language of your choice, an option to easily subscribe to my blog which will alert you when there are any new updates whilst I am away and a random list of some of my favourite things (the blog people said this will give people a feeling of knowing me more- whatever Trevor!)

Over and out!

P.S- 12 WEEKS TODAY WE WILL BE ON OUR PLANE TO GOA!!!!!

Chinese Visa.......Arghhh!!!!

So, just got a text from Mike whilst he is at work saying 'Do you know about the problem with our Chinese visas?'....***heart starts pounding, stress headache coming on***** No, no I didn't! The Chinese Embassy couldn't possibly let the wee woman know- only  men have brains and can solve problems. Women cook and make babies...... oh and keep quiet! So mad!

So- whilst I am stewing away and going crazy from
1) Mike not giving me all the details I want in one go (yes I know he is at work but I am a self-confessed control freak and organiser)
2) The fact the Embassy didn't let us both know seen as though we are individual applicants, we just shared the same envelope, it is not like I am a child featured on his passport!
3) Time is ticking and we have more visas to get, I double and tripled checked but I am annoyed at myself as apparently I forgot to put a next of kin down for Mike and a Chinese reference, even though it said on the form help guide that a hotel address will do, which I gave!

Ohhhh I don't know!!!! Bother bother bother!!!!!!

Sssshhhh- secret items

Well, I thought to myself.......How am I going to cope travelling the world looking like a troll whose hair has been damaged in a house fire, whilst going through the change and dressed in butch clothes and manly sandals?!? Seen as though my purchase of beautiful KG sandals were given the axe from my backpack, along with straighteners, make-up or anything that remotely indicates that I am in fact a woman, I have decided that I am taking a travel hair-dryer and shall treat myself to a Brazilian blow-dry before I venture off (I have very curly, thick hair and it doesn't bode well in humidity- think Monica from friends in Barbados). Hopefully I can keep the hair-dryer hidden from Mike until we arrive in India, which by then it will be too late! And lets face it, he will end up using it just as much as I will. I just hope he doesn't find out the price for a Brazilian blow-dry!
