Full Moon, New Year and Bangkok

Full Moon Party! It was great. We went across via speedboat to Koh Phangan to Haad Rin beach where the notorious party is held. What a sight. It was like Blackpool, Wigan Pier, and all other cheap party destinations on acid. I can imagine it is a pulling heaven if you are single and more of a mega party if you are with a massive group of mates, otherwise it was good to go and party for a bit but then leave being happy you experienced it. I went with Mike, Jado, Jane and Anna. IIt really was unlike anything I have experienced, a must! When we arrived I got some neon paint all down my arm in a flower style chosen by the artist- then I thought sod paying for designs and went and bought some neon paints myself with a couple of brushes where we all drunkenly painted each other at a place called 'Mushroom Point' which was a place where you could buy magic mushroom milkshakes if you wanted. Me being a goody two shoes opted out of this and settled for buckets of booze instead. All painted up we strolled along the packed beach, each barclub playing different types of musc along the way with fire shows, fire slides, podiums etc. We had a go on the fire slide which was so much fun, it definately wouldn't happen in England due to health and safety laws. Not due to the fire so much (although that comes into it) but due to the crappy ladder up the side of a building (yes a building) to get to it. Then you whoosh down the wet slide onto a big bouncy mattress. I went flying right off the end of it when it was my go, onto the sand. Mind, it wasn't as bad as some people who ended up face planting the sand. Muwahahaha. So basically we partied partied away but then much to Anna's disappointment, Mike and I wanted to go as we weren't sleeping on the island, we were staying on Koh Samui which was a 30 minute speedboat ride away. The next day we met up with Jane and Jado (Anna was already with us) and had a few drinks at a bar followed by a meal at an Italian before heading to our seperate hotels. This was the time we said goodbye to Jane and Jado as they were going off to Dad's and then back to Thailand where as we were heading to Koh Tao.
Koh Tao is meant to be paradise but I didn't think so- it probably didn't help that the weather was really quite rainy and unpredictable. We filled the time up with bars, cheap massages, reading etc. On NYE we went to a bach party and danced away, we had such a great time but then I went back and Anna carried on till about 4pm the next day. Her hangover was astronomical! It was so so bad! No sympathy! So again, not much to tell with Koh Tao as all this island hopping is a bit same same (but different) ((I make even myself sick with that rubbish joke)).
After 4 nights in Tao the three of us got a 2 hour ferry and 8 hour bus to Bangkok. Loooooooooooooong journey. It was a good end to it though as we checked into the best hostel we have stayed in yet. If you ever find yourself in Bangkok, check out Lub'D Bangkok (Siam Square). Here we finally got to watch 'The Hobbit'. I LOVED it!! I especially loved the dwarves as they were nothern English, Scottish and Irish and totally had great humour. It was different that at the start of the film, everyone in the cinema has to stand up whilst the national anthem is played to a montage of the King of Thailand- Thailand as a whole is very patriotic which is great to see and I think England should become more so. Especially when William takes the throne. We also headed out to Koh San road which is a famous road for drinking. Quite fun. I'm so sorry there isn't much to tell. Big cities are also a bit samey same and I can't remember everything clearly as it was more than two days ago! I do remember going to the airport to leave Asia though. Anna is terrified of flying and so it made her feel a bit better that our flights were only an hour or so apart. Although when we got to the airport she realised she was at the wrong one and had to quickly dash off to try and catch her flight from the right airport. Nightmare. So now after two weeks of having some members of my family with us, we were all alone once more and awaiting to leave Thailand, and Asia, to move onto our next destination: SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!

(I will upload pictures as soon as it lets me!!!)
